member since 2024, still obsessed
Hi, I’m Chris. Kindred is like Airbnb, minus the nightly rate. I’ve used it to save thousands while staying in great apartments around the world, so I’m very happy to share it with you.
Why Kindred
- Way cheaper. No nightly rate. You pay for cleaning and a small service fee. That’s it.
- Often nicer.Real homes people actually live in. Kitchens with more than one pan, and hosts who text back like humans. No management companies, no beige rentals furnished in a single afternoon.
- No hosting required.Nobody stays at your place unless you say yes. You never have to host anyone to use your 5 credits. Try it first, decide later.
The math
Same 5 nights. Very different receipt.

My last trip
Brooklyn, NYC. A 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment with a great terrace, in an amazing location. 10 nights, 10 credits, €658 (about $760) all in.
A hotel: about $3,360 for those 10 nights. For one room. No terrace.
Hotel: Engine’s average of the cheapest public rate, May 2024 to April 2026, so real prices usually run higher. Kindred: Kindred’s own 5-night example; your exact fees show before you book. My trip: my actual receipt from September 2026, paid in euros (about $760 at that week’s exchange rate).

Quick answers
What’s your Kindred invite code?
CHR.GRA7. My link applies it for you. Last checked October 28, 2026.
What is Kindred?
A members-only home swapping network with 400,000+ members in about 200 cities. You stay in members’ homes using credits instead of paying a nightly rate.
Do I really not have to host anyone?
Really. Kindred has no minimum hosting requirement, and nobody stays at your place unless you say yes. You do need a home of your own to join. One thing to know: you need credits to book, so after your first 5 nights you’d earn more by hosting, swapping or referring friends.
What does it cost?
Joining is free. Each trip costs a cleaning fee plus a small service fee, and you see the total before you book.
Can renters join Kindred?
Yes, as long as it’s the place you live. Check your lease.
Is Kindred safe?
Every member is ID-verified, every home is verified, Kindred schedules a cleaning before and after each stay, and guest damage is covered up to $100,000 per stay.
Where can I go with Kindred?
About 200 cities across North America and Europe, from New York, Los Angeles and Mexico City to London, Paris and Lisbon.
What do you get if I use your code?
2 credits once you verify your home. Thank you in advance.
Is this Kindred’s website?
Nope, just mine. It isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by Kindred.
